Mid-Pacific Promotions Newsletter #030

Welcome back to another issue of the Mid Pacific Promotions newsletter.  Well, there is a huge elephant in the room that needs to be discussed so that will be addressed now.

(Former) MPP superstar Bray Wyatt showed up in WWF helping Kevin Sullivan and Cactus Jack defeat the Road Warriors to win the tag team titles.  Back home, co-owner Reggie Parks, infuriated, tries to fire Wyatt for breach of contract.  Negotiations took place with WWF to allow Wyatt to leave without further mention and Daniel Bryan is welcomed into the MPP family.  The Hell in a Cell match with Cena has been officially scrapped.

Cena addressed briefly the departure of Wyatt saying that Bray couldn’t “see him” and that drove him crazy.  He said he would be participating in the Pacific Heritage tournament and the fans will see him once again with the gold.

Daniel Bryan shows up and is immediately brought into the Bullet Club by Finn Balor.  The team is once again complete.

Next week, the SPW tag team champions will show up here in Hawaii and meeting them for the belts will be our own Samoa Joe and Yokozuna.  Mr. Fuji has promised that the belts will change hands.

Due to dwindling funding, our show had to be moved to a smaller venue and with the inability to broadcast this show, it was just treated like a typical house show and the matches and their abbreviated results are below.

Dolph Ziggler vs Firebreaker Chip. Chip gets the win after getting Ziggler to submit to a bearhug.  This is Chip’s second win as a singles competitor since stepping foot into MPP.

Next, Daniel Bryan vs Curtis Iaukea.  In his debut match, Bullet Club member Daniel Bryan gets the impressive win getting Curtis to tap out to the Yes Lock. (score was 82 to 20)

The third match on the card saw The Ascension vs Knuckles Nelson & Paul LeDuc.  The Sheepherders came out and attacked the Ascension blooding them up after getting knocked silly against the ring posts.  The ref wanted to cancel the match but Konnor insisted it go on but that was a mistake as LeDuc and Nelson owned the match and secured the win after Viktor got counted out.

Randy Savage w/ Miss Elizabeth vs Essa Rios.  The Rock came out and ended up pushing Savage off the top turnbuckle as he was going for the flying elbow.  Essa Rios picked up Savage and hit a vertical suplex.  He went for the cover and Rock held down Savage’s leg for good measure. Essa Rios gets the (mind-blowing) win.

It is announced that, in order to crown a new Pacific Heritage Champion, the entire roster (except those holding SPW titles) will get a shot to win that belt.

Main Event:  Samoa Joe & Yokozuna vs the Sheepherders with the belts on the line.  Mr. Fuji ensured the champs had the upper hand and they took the match to the violent Sheepherders.  Even though Butch and Luke had tagged in an out multiple times, they couldn’t stop the onslaught of the champs.  It also didn’t help that while Mr. Fuji was distracting the ref, the Ascension came down and attacked Butch and Luke hitting both of them with the Fall of Man on the two commentary tables at ringside.  Luke gets tossed back in and the Ascension leave.  Yokozuna picks him up hitting a belly to belly suplex and gets the easy 1-2-3.  Samoa Joe and Yokozuna retain the tag team titles.  They stand over a broken Luke Williams holding the titles high as the show comes to an end.

Thanks for reading.  Next up…SPW Tag Team title action.
