Mid-Pacific Promotions Newsletter #011

Hello fans and welcome back to our latest installment of Mid-Pacific Promotions.  Tonight, we have some great action on the card to include the in-ring debut of the Macho Man Randy Savage as well as some tag action.  Speaking of which, our owners Dave Millcan and Reggie Parks announced that next week (6/4), the SPW Tag Team Champions the Dudley Boys will be here defending those prestigious titles.  It was decided that our MPP Tag Team Champions Samoa Joe and Yokozuna will NOT be challenging for those titles.  In fact, they will be defending the titles against an unnamed as of yet team.  Reggie stated that there will be 5 teams picked.  4 of them will meet tonight to see who will earn the right to represent MPP in taking on the SPW Tag Team Champs.  Dave announces that the 5 teams being considered are:

King Curtis Iaukea and Prince Iaeukea
AJ Styles and Gino Hernandez (representing the Bullet Club)
The Bruise Brothers
Finn Balor and Damien Sandow (representing the Bullet Club)
The Ascension

The team not chosen for tonight’s tournament will be compensated by getting a shot at the MPP Tag Team Champions (not sure that is compensation).  Dave draws the names and says that the team meeting Joe and Yokozuna will be none other than…King Curtis and Prince Iaukea.  The other four teams will all fight tonight with a winner being crowned.  Reggie says there will be more announcements coming but for now, they need to get this show moving.

Match #1:  The Ascension come out first much to the disapproval from the crowd.  They flip a few people off but for the most part, try to ignore the fans but you can tell they are getting under their skin.  Next, “Bullet Club” flashes across the screen and out comes AJ Styles and Gino Hernandez.  AJ heads to the ring first and gets a pop from the crowd.  Once Gino started his way down, the fans went sour on him.  The Handsome Half-breed did his best to ignore them.  The match gets underway and much to the surprise of the fans, AJ and Gino actually got along really well and did surprisingly well for such a new team.  The Ascension struggled at first and then got out-wrestled by their opponents but eventually figured things out and really took the match to the Bullet Club.  The fans were really into this match and by the end, they stopped hating on Gino.  Before we knew it, the 30 minute time limit was almost up.  Gino threw Viktor out of the ring hoping for a CO but he was back in and immediately hit Gino with the Fade to Black.  Viktor went for the pin but AJ broke it up and then the bell rang bringing this one to a draw finish.   Dave Millican comes out and says he doesn’t want this ending on a draw so he asks the ref to restart the match.  Two minutes later, Gino hurled Konnor out of the ring and nailed him with a side suplex on the outside of the ring.  Gino rolls back in beating the count and AJ and Gino win this one via countout decision.  The Bullet Club advances.

CM Punk is backstage and addresses his loss to Verne Gagne.  “I came to Mid Pacific Promotions for one reason and that is to be the champion…the man everyone wants to be.  Verne Gagne came in and DAMN, he has got game.  I meant what I said and that was I didn’t hate Verne before but now that man has my respect.  I’ll admit it…he wiped the mat with me.  That night, I was not in his league.  Next time will be different.  Now, for the other dog in this yard who’s been doing a lot of barking…John Cena…You sure you want to call me out BOY?  You and your thug attitude…you think you own this…that somehow you are entitled to this?  Guess what…you’re not.  I’m not…Verne Gagne is not…we do however earn our stripes not by seeing who spouts the most crap but who brings it in the ring.  You want me in the ring?  I’d be happy to oblige.”

We head back to the ring for our next match and it is the second match in our tag team battle to see who goes on to meet the SPW Tag Team Champs the Dudley Boys.  First, the Bruise Brothers (Mad Dog Boyd and Porkchop Cash) come out to a nice pop from the crowd.  Bullet Club flashes over the marquee again and Damian Sandow and Finn Balor come out to a huge pop from the crowd.  Just as they enter the ring, Reggie Parks comes out and says that to avoid what happened last time, he’s giving this match a 60 minute time limit.  It was a good thing the time limit was extended as this match needed it.  Both teams neutralized a lot of the others moves and the Bruise Brothers tagged in and out so often that it was hard to remember who was the legal man.  The Bullet Club finally started to exert their dominance and AJ and Gino came out to cheer their team on.  Gino almost interfered after Boyd reversed a piledriver from Balor and knife chopped him down.  Balor waved him off and caught Boyd with the Bloody Sunday and rolled him up for the 3 count.  (34 min)  AJ and Gino joined Finn and Sandow in the ring but Balor asked them something and they shook their heads in acknowledgement as Finn took a mic and called out Dave Millican.  Dave came out and Balor told him that he didn’t want internal strife within the Bullet Club so he had a proposition to offer.  He suggested that King Curtis and Prince Iaukea take on AJ and Gino for the shot at the SPW titles.  However, if Curtis and the Prince lose, Balor and Sandow get the shot at Joe and Yokozuna.  Millican countered and said he’d make this happen but if AJ and Gino lose (Gino yelled “we won’t”) then no one in the BC gets any sort of title shot.  In fact, the Prince and the King, if they win, get to pick the belts they want to go after and the Ascension will be given the other.  Gino and AJ agreed to it and Dave said the main event tonight will be Gino and AJ vs King Curtis and Prince Iaukea.

The ring clears and we have our next match of the night.  First, Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger comes out to a huge pop from the crowd.  He will be taking on Austin Aries in a match that will be part of an announcement to follow the match.  Aries came out next with his A-Team members Antonio Cesaro and Adrian Neville.  The A-Team remained at ringside.  The match began with Liger owning the first part but after getting dumped out of the ring by Aries and a subsequent attack by the A-Team, Austin took control of the match and in 16 minutes, hit an LED Running Front Dropkick and with a handful of tights, got the three count.

Reggie Parks came out this time and said that with Aries winning the match, he will be the 8th person in a tournament to crown a Light Heavyweight champion.  .  Reggie says that wrestlers cannot be heavyweights (sets a maximum of 190 lb weight limit).  He adds that the LHC can be any wrestler below that weight limit.  However, when the SPW Cruiserweight champ finally makes his way here, whomever is chosen to represent MPP will have to abide by the weight limits set forth in the SPWA guidelines.  He continues with the reason the prior match had to happen was that it turns out there are not enough wrestlers who meet the weight class (only 7 and that was with increasing the weight class to 190).  Aries winning the match puts him as the 8th man into this tournament.  The 8 participants are as follows:

Finn Balor
Ultimo Dragon
Zema Ion
Adrian Neville
Crash Holly
Essa Rios
Brian Kendrick
Austin Aries

Reggie then dismisses everyone so the next match can begin.

Bull Pain comes out first and is booed.  Next Muhammed Hassan comes out and the fans are mixed on how to react to him.  The match was a little slow at times but the longer it went on, Hassan started to get a nice fan reaction.  Finally, he turned to the audience and the popped as he locked in a camel clutch.  Bull tapped out almost immediately.  Muhammed Hassan gets the win and leaves to the crowd’s applause.  (22 min)

Backstage, Mike Adamle is with the Macho Man Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth.  Savage says he’s ready to show the Mid Pacific fans what Macho Madness is all about.  Savage says “Ohhhh Yeahhhh” and he and Elizabeth head to the ring.

Dolph Ziggler is already in the ring and ‘Pomp and Circumstance’ plays over the loudspeakers and Randy Savage makes his way to the ring with Miss Elizabeth following behind.  Savage gets in the ring but is attacked by Ziggler.  Savage turned the tables on Ziggler and beat him silly. He took his time with Dolph but Miss Elizabeth tried to warn him the time limit was running out but he didn’t seem to hear her.  Dolph then eye gouged Savage and exited the ring to go flaut himself to Miss Elizabeth.   She backed away nervously until Savage rushed out the ring knocking Dolph down with a double axe handle.  The bell then rang signaling the end of the match via draw but Savage wasn’t done.  He beat Ziggler down a little more and then threw him into the ring.  He climbed the turnbuckle and was ready to launch until music hit and out ran the Ultimate Warrior.  Warrior jumped into the ring standing in front of Ziggler preventing Randy from attacking him further.  Savage jumped down and then looked UW in the eyes and then got out of the ring and left with Miss Elizabeth.  Warrior looked on as Randy made his way up the ramp.  Ziggler recovered and was pissed Warrior was there in his ring.  He attacked UW but Warrior shrugged him off, pressed him over his head and then tossed him from the ring.  Ziggler made his way up the ramp hollering at UW.

The Bullet Club is in force backstage with Mike Adamle and AJ says that he’s honored that Finn has that much faith in them to represent the team.  Gino adds in that they will mow through their opponents tonight and the Dudley’s best come prepared as they say those belts will remain here in Hawaii with them.

It’s time for the main event.  First, Prince Iaukea and King Curtis come out to a pop from the crowd.  They are ready for this match.  Next, Bullet Club flashes on the marquee and AJ Styles and Gino Hernandez make their way to the ring.  Gino wastes no time in getting this one started right away.  For the first few minutes, Gino single handedly beat the snot out of Curtis and the Prince.  AJ came in and the Club was on fire.  During some double teaming with all 4 men fighting in the ring, King Curtis slashed at Gino with some foreign object drawing blood and the ire of the Handsome Half-Breed.  Gino hit Curtis with a back breaker and then tagged AJ in when Prince Iaukea also came in. AJ caught Prince with the Styles Clash inverted mat slam.  Curtis was not available to make the save so AJ and Gino got the win.  AJ and Gino will now face the Dudley’s next week.

Just as the show was coming to an end, music hit and…HOLY CRAP…the SPW Tag Team Champions the Dudley Boys are HERE!  Bubba Ray and Devon make their way down to the ring and get into the ring to have a stare down with AJ and Gino.  The four men stood staring at each other with Bubba and Devon flaunting their titles in their opponent’s faces.

With that the show comes to an end.  Be sure to join us next week for the showdown between these two teams.
