Mid-Pacific Promotions Newsletter #026

Hello fans and welcome back to the latest installment of the Mid-Pacific Promotions newsletter.  There has been quite a bit of turmoil taking place and it’s really been disrupting operations and our shows.   As you may have noticed, we’re no longer broadcasting weekly.  Our schedule has now dropped to twice a month and even that has become a stretch.  Through no fault of their own, the wrestlers and the fans are the ones who are paying the price.  We’re still holding out hope for things to get rectified sooner rather than later but for right now, let’s get to the action you’ve been waiting for.

Kicking off action today is tag team action.  In the ring already are Lenny Lane and Billy Pearl.  Their opponents come out and it’s the Bruise Brothers – Mad Dog Boyd and Porkchop Cash.  The fans pop as they make their way down to the ring.  The Bruise Brothers inflicted a lot of bruises in this match but they could not capitalize on any pin attempt.  Even though Cash and Boyd owned the match (183 to 55), they just couldn’t keep anyone down for the elusive 3 count.  Eventually the bell rang bringing this one to a 20 minute draw.  Pearl and Lane limped to the back while the Bruise Brothers did some juking and jiving in the ring for the fans before leaving.

SPW World Champion the Ultimate Warrior calls in via Skype and talks about how parts unknown have influenced his matches and as long as the power of the little warriors is with him, he will be unstoppable.

We move on to our next match.  Big Bully Busick comes out and he’s of course booed.  Next, Austin Aries comes out and the fans pop huge for him.  Busick, the big bully he is, attacked Aries and threw him into the ring for their match.  The big bully stayed one step ahead of Aries keeping him grounded by hitting illegal moves throughout the match.  Finally, Aries got a little offense going but Bully “pulled” the ref in between him and Aries and the ref went down hard.  Busick then choked Aries out and then hollered for a ref to come out.  The new ref came down and made the count but Aries kicked out at 2.  Busick was furious and then hurled Ref #2 from the ring.  Ref #1 had recovered and checked on his replacement before getting back in the ring.  Aries hit the ropes and hit a dazzling discuss elbow smash and taking a page out of Bully’s playbook, he hooked the tights and the ref counted to 3 awarding the match to Aries.  Busick was furious but Aries and Ref #1 escaped the ring before any damage could be inflicted.  (15 min)

Recap:  Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger loses the SPW Cruiserweight title to Tiger Mask.  Liger says he will want a rematch.  The dominating champion will have to earn his spot again.  Liger states that he still holds the IWA title and requests that IWA management put together a match for him to defend on their ground.

Next up, ‘Above Average’ Mike Sanders comes out and he’s booed but he exclaims that he’s above average so the fans should worship him.  Next, the lights go out and an eerie light shines on the stage.  Bray Wyatt is sitting there in his rocking chair and before he heads to the ring, he has a message. 

“John Cena tells all of you that I am a monster, and he is right. I am a monster, and oh how cruel I can be. He would also have you believe that my message, my honorable message, is nothing but lies, and that I only wish to watch the world burn. I have to give it to you, John, you're right again. I do wish to watch this world burn. I wish to watch it burn as a farmer watches his spoiled crops burn so they may rise up again. This world must be burned down so that it can be reborn. And it will be reborn in my image, the image of Wyatt. Yeah, man. John Cena thinks that I do this, everything I do, all of this, I only do it for myself. And that, my friends, that is where John Cena is dead wrong. I do this for the children. I do this for the poor man that stands, day and night, begging on the side of the street starving because they didn't think he was smart enough to live in this world. I do this for the teenage girl who wakes up crying every morning when she looks in the mirror because they didn't think she was beautiful enough to be the prom queen. I do this for each and every one of you.  Run, John…Run.” 

Bray stands up and heads down to the ring.  Bray attacked Sanders and beat him senseless.  Bray just kept picking Sanders up after a 2 count.  Finally, tired of beating on this poor schmuck, Bray hit a body avalanche followed by Sister Abigail to get the 3 count.   Bray then just stared at the camera with a creepy look on his face before leaving.  (9 min)

The Rock is backstage and the fans pop huge for him.  Rock says that Savage is a coward and he’ll deal with him all in good time and warns Miss Elizabeth to stay out of his way or he may have to show her the Peoples’…ahem…strudel.  “If you smelllllllllllllll…what the Rock…is…cookin.”

A-team member Adrian Neville makes his way out to the ring and waits impatiently for his opponent.  The Rock comes out and the place goes bananas.  Rock gets in the ring and poses on the turnbuckles much to the crowd’s delight.  Neville gets tired of waiting and attacks Rock but Rock fights him off.  The match was supposed to have a 20 minute time limit but the timekeeper was so enthralled by watching the Rock lay the smack down that they forgot to watch the clock.  Rock finally locks in a sharpshooter and at the 22 minute mark, Neville taps out giving the Rock the win via submission.  Rock once again poses on the turnbuckles but Savage runs out and attacks him.  Randy beats him down but Rock fights back.  Miss Elizabeth sneaks up from behind and kicks the Rock right in the…strudel.  Savage plants Rock with some stomps and then climbs to the top turnbuckle and launches connecting with the Macho Elbow.  Miss Elizabeth and Randy Savage stand over the crumpled form of the People’s Champion and both leave.  Rock is eventually helped up and to the back.

Bullet Club member Damien Sandow calls in via Skype and when questioned about what he did to Jerry Lawler, all he said was that Jerry took the manservant thing way too far and this was just a little retribution.  In a few short days, he heads back to Hawaii and will be done once and for all with the Burger King.

It’s time for the main event.  The winner of this match will get a title shot at the World Tag Team Championship held by Samoa Joe and Yokozuna.  Speaking of the champs, they came out without Mr. Fuji and went to go sit at commentary.   The first team to come out are Luke and Butch – the Sheepherders.  They head to the ring waving the New Zealand flag.  They get in the ring and begin pacing. Next, music hits and Viktor and Konnor – the Ascension – make their way out.  The fans are not sure who to cheer.  Viktor and Konnor get in the ring and then glare at the tag team champs.  This one has so much riding on it.  Reporter Mike Adamle rushes out and tells everyone that because there is so much at stake, this match was being given no time limit.  The Sheepherders then demanded a special stipulation and the Ascension quickly agreed.  We were then told that this would be a barb wire match.  Konnor looked worried but Viktor told him they’ve got this.

The Sheepherders win the match are the #1 contenders to the tag team titles.  Joe and Yokozuna hit the ring and attack the already exhausted New Zealanders.  Joe hits a Samoan drop on Butch and Yokozuna splashes Luke in the corner.  Joe and Yokozuna stand tall over the Sheepherders as the show comes to an end.
