BREAKING
NEWS: Reggie Parks informs us that in
less than a month, MPP will host is FIRST EVER PPV and it will be called “The
Cutting Edge” on 8/5/17. As of right
now, the only match confirmed for this PPV will be our main event and that will
be for the SPW Heavyweight Championship.
The champ comes (back if Gagne) to Hawaii and a tournament will be held
in two weeks to see who will face him. We
know CM Punk wants another shot to make up for his loss the last time Verne
Gagne was here (for those who don’t remember, Gagne WIPED the floor with Punk –
it was embarrassing). But first,
another person has a beef with Punk and the Dr. of Thuganomics comes out with
his manager Sensational Sherri and demands a mic. He takes a chair, unfolds it and sits down.
Sounds like he’s got something to say.
John
Cena:
The
reason I’m sitting here, sitting in a funk
Is
because of the GTS that I took from you, Punk
I
don't think you understand what I'm sayin’
You're
gonna hit your knees quicker than a priest when he's prayin’
You're
the poster child for the birth control pill
You
go down faster than a ho, for a five dollar bill
I'm
the real Superman, you ain't nothing but Clark Kent
I go
for four quarters, you're halftime, like 50 Cent
I'm
gonna hang your ass, you're like a Christmas Tree ornament
I'll
whack you more times than a masturbation tournament
You
get my point now? Before I thought you missed it
I'm
a vigara triple shot, you’re just a limp bizkit
WORD
LIFE
Cena
and Sherri leave with Sherri acting all proud of Cena.
It’s
time for our first match. Billy Pearl
(aka Bill Walsh) makes his way down to the ring but inadvertently bumps into
Cena. He tried to apologize but Cena got
all crazy and attacked Pearl. He beat
him down and dragged him to the ring. He
told them to ring the bell and this one is underway. Pearl got in a few licks but nothing
substantial. Cena basically used him as
target practice taking his time beating Pearl up and down. Finally, Sherri told John to end it and he
hits a spinebuster slam and hooks the leg to get the 1-2-3. John Cena wins the match and is joined in the
ring by Sherri. Together, they parade
around the ring and then finally leave when the negativity from the fans gets
to be too much. (15 min; 93 to 60)
Mr.
Fuji and the Pacific Heavyweight Champion Don Muraco show up. Muraco tells Fuji that he needs to be entered
into the tournament to see who will meet the SPW Champion. Muraco is fine being the champ in Hawaii but
feels the need to take his thing to a grander scale. Fuji tells him he will make it happen. Fuji then notices that Muraco has to defend
the World title tonight. Muraco flips
out and they storm off looking for our owners.
Next,
Bull Pain is already in the ring awaiting his opponent. ‘The Demon’ and head of the Bullet Club Finn
Balor comes out and is ready for action.
Bull Pain attacks Balor as he enters the ring but Balor fights him off
sending him out of the ring with a well-placed dropkick. Bull makes it back in the ring and takes the
fight to Balor (surprisingly) holding his own.
Pain doesn’t let Balor get many pin attempts in and this one ends up
coming to an end due to the time limit running out. Bull Pain storms off. Balor meets with the fans briefly before
leaving. (20 min time limit; 105 to 89)
“The
Macho Man” Randy Savage addresses his loss to the Ultimate Warrior saying that
Warrior was the better man in their match but he and Elizabeth walked away
where UW had to be helped out due to the deviousness of Miss Elizabeth. Savage says he wants to compete in a
tournament to see who will meet the SPW World Champion upon his return to MPP. If he ends up against UW again, well, he
promises a different turnout this time.
We
have a tag team match up next. Already
in the ring are Essa Rios and Dolph Ziggler.
Music hits and the Ascension – Konnor and Viktor – head to the
ring. The fans don’t care for them so
they make themselves vocal. The Ascension
beat the holy hell out of Rios and Ziggler but the challengers proved to be,
err, a challenge to them and broke up every pin attempt the Ascension tried to
make. No matter how much they got beat
down, their resilience frustrated Konnor and Viktor at every turn. Finally, the bell rings on this one bringing
it to a 30 min time limit draw. Konnor
and Viktor are not happy and drag their opponents out of the ring and hit each
of them with the Fall of Man on the floor.
They pompously paraded around and left as Essa and Dolph were attended
to. (285 to 136)
Don
Muraco and Mr. Fuji storm into Dave Millican’s office demanding to know why Don
was being forced to fight tonight.
Millican tells them that if they read the memo (emailed, texted, posted
via Instagram, Facebook, Twitter AND had flyers put up EVERYWHERE), they would
have seen the new line up for title defenses. The World Championship just happens to need
to be defended today. Muraco asks who
and is told it will be against A-Team member Austin Aries!
It’s
time to head back to the ring for our next match. First, Muhammed Hassan comes out to a mixed
reaction from the crowd. Next, Bullet
Club member AJ Styles comes out to a huge pop from the crowd. This was a short match that Styles had
control on from the beginning. It didn’t
take long for him to hit the Phenominal Forearm and get the pin in 7
minutes. (66 to 32)
Backstage,
Austin Aries is with the A-Team (Adrian Neville and Antonio Cesaro) and says
tonight is the night he brings prestige to the A-Team. He is interrupted by Reggie Parks who tells
him that the A-Team members are not “authorized managers” so they will not be
allowed at ringside. Basically, Aries is
on his own. He doesn’t seem too worried.
It’s
time for our MAIN EVENT. First, the
challenger and leader of the A-Team Austin Aries makes his way down to the
ring. Next, Mr. Fuji and the Pacific
Heavyweight Champion Don Muraco come out and Muraco looks extremely
confident. He gets in the ring and then
is totally OWNED by Aries. Muraco couldn’t
believe it. Aries was handing him his
ass! Muraco tried to get counted out
only to be brought back in the hard way.
Fuji even tried to get Muraco disqualified but that didn’t help
either. Muraco began fumbling trying to
figure out what the hell was going on when Aries caught him with a powerdrive
elbow drop. Aries made the cover and with
a solid hook of the leg, got the 1-2-3.
HOLY CRAP! Austin Aries just defeated
Don Muraco to become the NEW Pacific Heavyweight Champion. (13 min; 63 to 93) Muraco grabs the mic and says that if Aries
read the fine print, this is a best of 3 falls, 60 min time limit. Aries still needs to score another fall. The ref reminds us that if Muraco is disqualified,
he’s done. For the second fall, it was
quite the reversal with Muraco annihilating Aries. He took 11 minutes and a frontal plex to
score the next fall. (61 to 95) Now, it’s the final fall with 36 minutes
remaining. This one was much closer with
both men hitting their specialties only to have the other kick out (Aries) or
make it to the ropes (Muraco). We join
the match at the 11 minute mark.
