To replace Outback Jack and Danny Davis, Mid-Pacific Promotions acquires Bull Pain and ‘Sick Boy’ Scott Vick.  Both were in need of a job (and we got them cheap).

Reggie Parks heads to the ring and says that he has an announcement that he can’t hold back any longer.  Dave Millican joins him in the ring and has something wrapped in a bag.  Reggie announces that Mid-Pacific Promotions has a GIANT of a surprise and introduces the 8th Wonder of the world – Andre the Giant.  The fans pop louder than we’ve ever heard.   Andre makes his way to the ring and extends his arms and they cross the entire aisle.  Fans slap his hands as he passes by and gets into the ring going over the top rope.  Dave welcomes Andre to Mid-Pacific Promotions and presents him with a special made belt just for him.  Andre says he’s happy to be here and looks forward to stepping back into this ring to wrestle anyone.

Mr. Fuji comes out and tells Andre that he is not the biggest man in the industry and says that his man will break the Giant.   He introduces Yokozuna.  Yokozuna makes his way down to the ring and although Andre is inviting him in, he does not enter.  Yokozuna just stares at Andre and then at the behest of Mr. Fuji, he makes his way back.  Andre shakes the hands of the owners and then after waving to the crowd, he departs.  Dave and Reggie also leave so that the show can begin.

Match #1:  Tag Team Qualifier:  The Ascension (Konnor & Viktor) vs Zema Ion and Lance Cade.  Cade and Zema Ion make their way out first.  Konnor and Viktor begin to run down the great tag teams all over the world from the LOD to the Horsemen to the Mulkeys.  Viktor states they will easily defeat their opponents and before you know it, they will be tag team champions.  No matter what the Ascension did, Ion and Cade stayed toe to toe with them. Before we knew it, the time limit was reached bringing this one to a draw.  The Ascension, the poor sportsmen they are, beat down on Cade & Ion until the ref finally broke it up.  (30 min draw:  232 to 166)

Don Muraco makes his way out and says that Dean Melanko is a pathetic excuse for a champion and issues a challenge to him.  He is interrupted when, over the loudspeakers blare “IF YOU SMELLLLLLLL…WHAT THE ROCK…IS…COOKIN”.  The Rock makes his way out to the ring, gives Muraco a disgusted glance and then climbs the turnbuckles.  Rock takes a mic and asks Muraco who he thinks he is… “IT DOESN”T MATTER” he exclaims before Muraco can even get a word in.  Muraco then attacks Rock and the two battle.  Muraco peppers the Rock with lefts and rights but the Rock shrugs him off and then hurls him out of the ring.  Rock’s music plays as Rocky stands in the ring calling for Muraco to return but he chooses not to and walks backwards up the ramp.  Rock challenges Muraco to a match tonight.  Rock shakes hands with the fans and he heads to the back.

Match #2:  6 man match:  A-Team vs Bull Pain, Paul LeDuc & Mike Sanders.  The team of Sanders, LeDuc and Bull Pain come out first to a mild reaction from the fans.  The A-Team (Austin Aries, Antonio Cesaro & Adrian Nevelle) come out and are booed.  It was nothing short of a train wreck.  The A-Team toyed with their opponents for over 20 minutes and just annihilated them.  The end finally (and mercifully) came when Neville pinned Bull Pain after hitting the Red Arrow.  The A-Team stood tall and proud before leaving.  (25 min; 273 to 105).  We are only two matches in and almost an hour is gone from tonight’s show.  Here’s hoping the rest of the matches go quicker.

Match #3:  This one wastes no time in getting started.  Big Bully Busick takes on Samoa Joe.  This one went longer than expected and was closer that we thought but Samoa Joe ends up pulling out the win after hitting a Yakuza Kick in 21 minutes.  (121 to 111)

Match #4 also begins and is a grudge match from the battle royal.  Essa Rios comes out first and then is followed by Yokozuna and his manager Mr. Fuji. This one also went longer than expected as Rios gave it his all.  He may have done better if it wasn’t for the dastardly Mr. Fuji.  After Yokozuna got dropped by a Moonsault, Rios tried it again scaling to the top rope.  Just before he could launch, Mr. Fuji nailed him with a chop to the throat and Rios fell back into the ring.  Yokozuna made the cover and got the 1-2-3.  Yokozuna gets the win in 11 min.  (79 to 59)

Mike Adamle is backstage with the Rock and Rock says that tonight, the MILLIONS (and millions) of the Rock’s fans get to witness history…the Rock vs the ‘other’ Rock Don Muraco do battle and with the People’s Champ leading the Rock’s fans, tonight will for sure be one for the record books (Rock raises an eyebrow before walking away).

It’s time for the main event.  Don Muraco with Mr. Fuji comes out first.   They are booed by the fans and Muraco threatens to hit a few of the fans.  The Rock’s music hits and the place goes ballistic.  Muraco is pacing in the ring ready to get this one underway.  The Rock begins with hitting a Rock Bottom.  Mr. Fuji then hit Rock with a chop to the throat.  Muraco went for a frontal plex but Rock reversed it locking in a Scorpion deathlock.  Muraco makes it to the ropes.  Mr. Fuji sticks his nose in again and Rock exits the ring going after him.  Unbeknownst to the Rock, Yokozuna made his way down and while Muraco distracted the ref, Yokozuna nailed Rock with an Avalanche.  He then hit a butt drop on the People’s champ.  Rock ends up getting counted out.  (3:37 match time)  (28 to 12) Don Muraco gets the win via countout.  Yokozuna and Mr. Fuji bring Rock back into the ring.  Muraco calls for the dedicated piledriver but then Andre the Giant comes out and blasts both Muraco and Yokozuna with massive fists.  The heels bail and Andre helps the Rock up.  All four men stare at each other as the show comes to an end.

Be sure to check back with us as things are heating up.
