Mid-Pacific Promotions Newsletter #001

Hello Wrestling Fans and welcome to our inaugural show for the new 2017 Mid-Pacific Promotions headquartered in wonderful Honolulu, Hawaii.  MPP comes to you as the newest member of the SPW Wrestling Alliance.   Our introduction starts with a video off with the newest owners of MPP.  Wrestling fans will know these two men as pioneers when it comes to the creation of wrestling championships – Dave Millican and Reggie Parks.  Dave welcomes the fans and acknowledges that MPP will have huge shoes to fill as a member of the SPW Alliance but says that they have combed talent from all over the world and they are ready to take their rightful place as ‘the crown jewel’ of SPW.  Reggie then comments that their champions will be region based and says that their championships are just as important as anything the WWF, WCCW or any of those federation have and they will prove it.  Reggie then pulls out the first championship – the Pacific Heavyweight Championship.  The belt is gorgeous (who really would have thought any different from these creative geniuses).   He then unveils the Pacific States Heritage championship; another belt that just blows away anything out there.  Finally, Dave unveils the belts representing the Hawaiian Tag Team Championship.   Reggie says that they want to introduce the MPP roster to the world of wrestling fans.   One by one, their pictures of the roster run in a slideshow.

Reggie then says that the talent pool continues.  He is interrupted in the studio by Austin Aries.  Aries comes out and says that the last time anyone saw him, his job was taken away from him by the former faction known as ‘the Board’ when they shut down the HCW and CSWA.  Aries then says he will pick up where they left off and introduces Antonio Cesaro and Adrian Nevelle as the reformed A-Team.  They eventually leave.  Reggie has the roster slideshow continue.

Bobby Lashley
Christopher Daniels
Dean Malenko
Jumbo Tsuruta
Jushin Thunder Liger
Samoa Joe

Finally, Dave says that the crown jewels round out the rest of the roster.

Batista
Don Muraco
Edge
Rock
Ultimate Warrior
Yokozuna

There seems to be one person missing.  Music hits and out comes John Cena.  The fans pop huge for him.  Cena gets into the ring and says “The Champ is HERE.  I’ve been all over the world but finally was able to get out of the northeast to spread my wings here in HAWAII!  However, when it comes to wrestling fans, you all SUCK!  That’s right…It’s not me who sucks but YOU.  You have criticized me for years and abandoned me so you know what, I don’t need ANY of you.  I will survive on my own…the Doctor of Thuganomics has returned!”  Cena drops the mic and leaves and the fans collectively boo him.

Dave Millican then states that they’ve signed to additional roles:
Managers Mr. Fuji, Johnny Valiant and the Grand Wizard
Interviewer Mike Adamle

Reggie states that tonight, they will be hosting 2 battle royals to determine who will be in line for the promotions championships.  We assume at that time the managers will disclose who they will be managing.  We go to the ring where dual rings have been set up to support the battle royals tonight.  It has been decided that the final 4 will break into singles matches with one fighting for the Pacific Heavyweight title and the other the Pacific States Heritage belt.  The tag team lineup will be determined at a later show.  The only man not here tonight is King Curtis Ieukea as he was finishing commitments in the Caribbean.

All of the wrestlers file into the ring and we are ready for this to begin.  It doesn’t take long – maybe 5 minutes for half of the people to be gone.

The most shocking moment of the battle royal was seeing Essa Rios eliminate Yokozuna.  I have no idea how he did it but it was insane.  It was also pretty epic to see the Ultimate Warrior go one on one with the Dr. of Thuganomics John Cena.  Cena looked like he had it in the bag but UW called on the powers from on high and sent the Dr. flying out of the ring. I’m sure Cena won’t forget this.  It was interesting to note also that Danny Davis and ‘Above Average’ Mike Sanders both hid on the outside of the ring and were able to go longer than expected.  Brian Kendrick also pulled off an unbelievable feat ousting the Ultimate Warrior.  He was so proud of himself.

Well, plans didn’t work out exactly as we wanted because Samoa Joe and Antonio Cesaro eliminated each other leaving 3 men left in the ring.  Instead of just handing the title to one person, Parks decided to try something different.  The final three were Dean Melanko, Edge and Adrian Neville.  Each man would wrestle twice and the person with the worst record would be out and the final two would fight for the belts.

Edge gets the win over Dean Melanko to go 1 – 0
Dean Melanko defeats Adrian Neville to go 1 – 1
Edge defeats Adrian Neville to go 2 – 0

That means at our next show, Edge takes on Dean Melanko to decide who becomes the Heavyweight Champion and who becomes the Pacific Heritage champion.

Stay tuned as there is more to come.
